Revitalize and beautify your lawn with colorful blooms, stabilizing roots, and species that support our local butterflies, bees, and songbirds by planting for pollinators this spring!

We're excited to host a series of free introductory workshops on all things pollinator gardens, raingardens, shoreline buffers, and water quality.  

Attend one of three sessions:

• Thursday, March 13th from 6:00-7:00pm at the New Prague Public Library
• Tuesday, March 18th from 6:00-7:00pm at the Shakopee Public Library
• Thursday, March 20th from 7:00-8:00pm online! (RSVP required for the webinar link)

The course will give the checklists, tools, and resources needed to begin both garden installation and restoration projects. Resources will include free technical assistance to design your project, suppliers of equipment and native plants, and take-home information for your reference.

The workshops will include:

• The importance of pollinators in Minnesota
• How to install different types of pollinator habitat
• Ways to prevent flooding in your yard
• Plant mixes for adding beneficial pollinator habitat
• Financial and technical assistance available
• And more!

Each workshop will cover the same information, giving step-by-step instructions to help you successfully plant pollinator habitat, and providing you with examples of completed projects done right here in Scott County. The courses will be taught by Scott SWCD Natural Resource Specialists, Meghan Darley and Hannah Plonsky.

If you live in Scott County, free technical assistance is always available to help design water and soil saving conservation projects. Incentives of up to $500 may be available to help offset the costs of plants, compost, and labor when you install your garden. All workshops are free, but an RSVP is required for the virtual session.
